Review of Local List for Planning Applications
What is the Local List for a Planning Application?
Planning applications are submitted on a standard application form and applicants are required to submit information for the validation / assessment of their planning applications. Some of this information is a national requirement for all applications. However, Councils are also able to request more information for applications, and these local requirements are known as the “local list‟. The information requirement will vary depending on the nature and scale of the development proposals.
Why is this Review being undertaken?
The Local List for Gloucester has been reviewed as follows:
- To take account of the adoption of the Joint Core Strategy which has implications for the information requirements for some planning applications;
- To take account of Government policy in the National Planning Policy Framework and Planning Practice Guidance;
- The addition of policy drivers for each information requirement to enable applications to consider whether the particular information requirement is reasonable for their proposal; and
- The addition of links to relevant guidance that may be helpful for applicants.
Additional Guidance Documents
The following guidance documents have been prepared to assist applicants in identifying the information likely to be required
- Viability assessments
- Historic environment assessments
